The Derwent Valley Concert Band (DVCB) is one of Australia’s most highly acclaimed, travelled and successful Community Bands.

Winner of the Open B-Grade State Championships for 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2021. Also winner of the Open B-Grade Concert Band Australian National Championship in 2000 and runners-up in 2017. The band has travelled to Japan, Canada, Austria, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, China, and, most recently, Malaysia in 2018.

In addition to the B-Grade Concert Band, we operate two other ensembles that cater to musicians of all levels and ages, as well as a Marching Band with an extensive repertoire for each.

Rehearsals are held weekly in our band rooms – War Memorial Hall, Circle St, New Norfolk, Tasmania, 7140.

Community Winds: 7:00pm – 8:30pm Monday
Development Band: 5:30pm – 6:30pm Wednesday
Concert Band: 7:00pm – 9:30pm Wednesday
Marching Band: 10am – 12pm first Sunday of every month
