Brett Budgeon

Brett is a Tasmanian-born vocalist and performer whose career spans musical theatre, concerts, festivals and live entertainment. He trained at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, developing the versatility and musicianship that have become hallmarks of his performing career.
At the age of 24, Brett secured his first major musical theatre role as Javert in Les Misérables. He has since performed a number of leading roles including Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar alongside Australian theatre and rock legend Jon English, and the title role in the Tasmanian premiere of

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera.

Brett has enjoyed casino residencies, worked as a backing vocalist for leading Australian artists, and performed at the 2010 Breath of Life Festival. Throughout his career, he has supported celebrated Australian performers including Julie Anthony, Darryl Braithwaite, Jessica Mauboy, Brian Cadd and James Reyne.

Today, Brett continues to perform across a broad range of musical styles. He collaborates regularly with some of Tasmania’s finest jazz musicians and is the lead vocalist of Australia’s first dedicated Yacht Rock band. Renowned for his rich vocal sound, engaging stage presence and
