Marching Band

The Derwent Valley Marching Band was formed in 1997 to contribute to the bands extensive events and opportunities. The Band welcomes new playing members who are dedicated to playing quality music and are able to participate.

Since its formation, the DVCB Marching Band has contributed much to the community, marching annually in the Hobart and New Norfolk Christmas pageants, New Norfolk ANZAC Day street march, Derwent Valley Autumn Festival, and opening the Derwent Valley Relay for Life.

The Marching Band has also toured internationally, having opened the Showband Marching Championship, competed in the Street Parade of the World Championships for Marching Band Show Band in Denmark in 2015  (earning 21st place), and won the European Band Championship in the March and Standstill competition in Germany in 2015.

In 2019 the Marching Band won the Tasmanian State Band Championship street march.

The Derwent Valley Marching Band is currently searching for a new Drum Major who bring their experience to extend players, master new formations and  to create an ever more versatile marching band.

Rehearsals are held at Brighton High School on the first Sunday of every month, 10am to 12pm.
